This themed collection aims to showcase cutting-edge research and emerging trends at the intersection of supramolecular chemistry and materials design. This collection invites contributions that explore how supramolecular principles are being harnessed to create novel materials with tailored properties and dynamic functionalities. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Self-assembled and hierarchical materials and design strategies for supramolecular polymers, gels, and frameworks with tunable architectures
  • Stimuli-responsive materials and environmentally adaptive systems
  • Host鈥揼uest systems and molecular recognition materials with applications in sensing, separation, catalysis, and molecular machines
  • Supramolecular soft matter including biomimetic materials, colloidal systems, and liquid crystalline phases
  • Supramolecular approaches to charge transport, energy storage, and optoelectronic materials
  • Sustainable materials design: Leveraging reversible interactions and green chemistry principles for recyclable and eco-friendly materials

This collection aims to bring together interdisciplinary work that integrates molecular design, computational modelling, and experimental validation, showcasing how supramolecular chemistry can drive the next generation of engineered materials.
